Dear Prime Time Player,

Hi! First of all, thank you for signing up to write one of my beloved fandoms! What follows is a good bit of rambling about my general likes and dislikes and my feelings on each fandom. If it helps you to get to know me, great! If it makes you want to run screaming in the other direction, please don’t! I will appreciate and cherish whatever you write for me. If that’s the only helpful sentence you can take from this letter, that’s okay. :)

General Likes:
• Hurt/Comfort, emphasis on the comfort
• Character-driven stories
• Familial/sibling relationships (actual blood families or friends/families of choice)
• Strong male friendships (Bromance, though I hesitate to use the term because it seems to have a wide range of definitions. For me it is close friendship without a sexual component. I’m a big believer that friendships involving whatever combination of genders can be close and loving without becoming sexual. That’s what I really love to read.)
• Happy endings
• Plotty stuff is great and I can really get into it, but I also enjoy one-shots that act as tag scenes for episodes or vignettes that show little slices of life.

Dislikes:
• Incest
• Porn
• Slash
• Gore, excessive violence
• Mpreg
• Gender-bending
• Excessive swearing/foul language
• Main character death
• Humiliation/intense embarrassment of characters is kind of a squick for me

My requests:

1) Merlin (Merlin, Arthur, Lancelot, Gwaine)

I love Merlin as a character, and I love the dynamic between him and Arthur. But my favorite part of canon is the end of season 3 through the beginning of season 4; I really enjoy stories with them and the knights. Lancelot is a particular favorite for me; I love that he knows Merlin’s secret and proves a true friend.

I love the idea of Arthur and the knights trying to protect Merlin, oblivious to the fact that he is by far the best equipped to do the protecting. I also like exploring the possibility of more or all of them knowing about his magic…and still feeling the need to take care of him! (Because let’s face it, he’s better at taking care of Arthur and others than himself.) Please feel free to include Percival, Elyan and Leon as well!

2) Hawaii 5-0 (Danny Williams, Steve McGarrett)

The main appeal of this show for me is Danny and Steve’s relationship. I love the open affection, the obvious concern for each other, the teasing and sniping, the easy comfort in the friendship. I love that we get to see it in every episode, even if there’s no direct interaction between the two of them!

Anything focused on that friendship will make me happy. I especially love hurt/comfort with this fandom! Preferably Gen please, though background canon relationships are cool. I like Catherine, and I like to see Steve interacting with Grace. Chin and Kono are awesome as well. But I would be just as happy with a story that’s entirely Steve and Danny. :)

3) The Hobbit (Fili, Kili, Thorin Oakenshield)

I fell in love with this movie. I love the book as well, but the dwarves didn’t really come alive for me as individual personalities until I saw them portrayed on screen. Fili and Kili are awesome, and I love the familial relationship with Thorin.

The fun-loving brothers would seem to have quite the personality clash with their serious and brooding uncle, though there is clearly a deep bond between the three of them. Anything that highlights that bond will make me happy. Pre-movie or stories set during canon are great; if you decide to go with a future story, I would prefer AU of the Battle of Five Armies. (Just this once, everybody lives!) Feel free to include the other dwarves and Bilbo; I love the whole company. :)

4) Chronicles of Narnia (Edmund Pevensie, Eustace Scrubb)

I love Narnia and many of the characters, but Edmund is perhaps my favorite. I love the redemption story, and I love his interactions with Peter and his sisters and later with Caspian. But I chose Eustace as well because I think that is a really interesting relationship. They are not so different. Edmund kind of needs to take the big brother role there. He’s been there, done that, been forgiven for it and grown incredibly, and he can help guide Eustace.

I’m familiar with the recent movies and the books, so either canon is fine. Anything set in Narnia is great, though I also love the idea of something set when they come back after Voyage of the Dawn Treader when Eustace is readjusting to his life and his family is readjusting to him.

Thank you for taking the time to read my ramblings. And thank you so much for writing! I'm looking forward to my story and again, I will love whatever you wish to write.
