Dear Narnia fic author,

Hi! First of all, thank you for signing up for this exchange, and I'm so glad we matched! What follows is a good bit of rambling about my general likes and dislikes and my feelings on the characters. If it helps you to get to know me, great! If it makes you want to run screaming in the other direction, please don’t! I will appreciate and cherish whatever you write for me.

General Likes:
• Hurt/Comfort, emphasis on the comfort! Hugs, protectiveness, affection.
• Character-driven stories
• Familial/sibling relationships (actual blood families or friends/families of choice), strong male friendships. I'm a big fan of brotherly relationships, which I suppose is evident from my prompts. :)
• Happy endings
• Plotty stuff is great and I can really get into it, but I also enjoy one-shots that act as tag scenes for episodes or vignettes that show little slices of life.

Dislikes:
• Incest, slash, porn
• Gore, excessive violence
• Mpreg, gender-bending
• Excessive swearing/foul language
• Main character death

I adore the world of Narnia. I marvel at C.S. Lewis' talent, at the gift he had for bringing characters and settings and plots to life, at the allegory and moral lessons woven into this amazing world. Even the characters I'm not as fond of teach me something.

I enjoyed the recent movies, particularly The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. I also liked the other two, though I wasn't too sure about some of the wilder departures from the books. That said, some of those differences do set up for interesting character explorations, so I'm not opposed to movie-verse fic. I only ask one favor: if it is a big factor in the plot or characterization for your story, please mention in a note which 'verse I'm about to read so I can get into the right mindset. :)

Requests:

1. Shasta/Cor and Corin

I want to see the boys interacting more, to learn more about their lives once they knew they were brothers. How does Cor (Shasta) adjust to life as a prince with a loving family? No incest or slash, please.

While there is much good Narnia fic to be found, pieces that focus on these two are rare. (At least as I have found ... if anyone knows of some, please point me in that direction!)

I think there is a wealth of stories to be told! You’ve got twins who just met, learning to be brothers. One has lived as an abused unloved peasant, little more than a slave, and he has to learn to be a prince. What is his ‘education’ like? Is Corin more help or hindrance in that regard?

Does Cor’s past come back to haunt him in the form of memories or even people? What all has he missed out on? I love the idea of Cor asking his brother about their mother or for advice on relating to their father. Or teaching Corin something; after all, he has a different skill set drawn from very different life experiences. I imagine he would look on treatment of household servants very differently, for example.

Twins are often said to have a deep connection, to know what the other is feeling even when they are not close. Do the boys experience that; did they perhaps even have a sense of it before each knew the other was alive?

Okay, I think I’m rambling. Please don’t feel like you need to answer all those questions! If one of them touches off an idea, terrific. If not, I’m sure I will love anything you come up with about these brothers. :)

2. Peter Pevensie and Edmund Pevensie

I love stories that feature and explore the brotherly bond between these two. Anything from further grand adventures in Narnia to adapting in England to simple, quiet brotherly moments is great. No incest or slash, please.

I love these two, as individual characters and especially in the way they relate to each other. Peter is kind of the ultimate big brother in my eyes, protective and willing to bear the weight of the world for his siblings. Edmund, meanwhile, is probably my favorite Narnia character with the redemption story.

I'm interested in England-fic. How do they adjust after they've been de-aged and plopped back into lives where they aren't kings anymore? How do they physically and emotionally cope with their childish bodies again? Edmund in particular has changed drastically; how do his old friends (or enemies) react? And of course, if you decide to go movie-verse, Peter struggles greatly before Prince Caspian and presumably returns quite changed himself. What is school like for them; does it feel like the two of them against the world?

I'd also love to see a reunion between them after Dawn Treader with Edmund relating their adventures and Peter sympathetic to the end of Edmund's time in Narnia. Throw Eustace into that mix too if you wish; I think that would be great fun.

If England-fic isn't your thing then I'd also love Golden Age fic or anything set as a missing scene from canon. Whatever you want to write about these two, I'm sure I will enjoy. :)
